About the Opportunity
Currently, Orion Construction is seeking an enthusiastic Interior Designer to join our team in Langley, BC on a full-time basis.
In this position, you will be focusing on industrial and commercial projects, while utilizing your technical ability and evolved drafting skills, clean presentation style, and attention to detail to curate interior projects from the concept stage into a construction-ready set of designs.
While no two days will be alike in this fast-paced role, your more typical responsibilities will include:
- Producing contract documents, including drawings for construction and specifications
- Researching/sourcing products/fixtures/finishes while corresponding with vendors
- Collaborating and corresponding with other consultants, contractors, and clients
- Conducting verifications & reviews of onsite conditions prior to and during construction
- Preparing presentations & client correspondence
- Conceptualizing and sketching design concepts with careful considerations based on client's needs and taste
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you are a driven interior designer with 3-5 years of experience in commercial and industrial interior designing and have an understanding/experience using REVIT. You have experience creating drawings for permit application and construction, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects.
As our ideal candidate, you are motivated and proactive, with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines. You are an innovative self-starter who is capable of leading designing projects and presenting work to clients in a professional manner by utilizing tools such as InDesign, renderings, and Photoshop. You have strong attention to detail, and data organization skills (spreadsheets, specification writing, etc.). Basic knowledge of the BC Building Code is an asset.
